Portugal Opens Embassy in Baku to Strengthen Diplomatic Ties

(MENAFN) Portugal has announced plans to establish an embassy in Baku, aiming to enhance its diplomatic presence in Azerbaijan, as stated by reports.

The development followed a phone discussion between the Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel and his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov, during which they addressed bilateral cooperation alongside regional and international security matters.

Rangel conveyed Lisbon’s intention to open the embassy, a move that Bayramov warmly welcomed.

Both officials highlighted the value of political consultations and reciprocal visits in strengthening relations between the two countries. They also explored avenues to broaden collaboration in areas such as the economy, energy, trade, transport, and tourism.
